Opis

DULČIĆ, Pavle, artists, kabbalist, filmmaker, member of Kinoklub Split (Starigrad, 1948 – Split, 1974). He completed the School of Applied Arts in Split and graduated from the Arts department of the Teachers’ Academy. He cofounded the Red Peristyle art group with Božidar Jelinić. They also worked together on Matejuška while building a ship to travel around the world in and Dulčić worked as an assistant to Jelinić holding open-air lectures to the students of the School of Applied Arts (The school in front of the ship). He is one of the artists who painted the Split peristyle red. He cofounded the art groups A Fraction of the Red Peristyle and 3i art group. He produced a number of public space interventions (Ljudi s lijeve i desne strane ulice, Crveno more, Zašto ja ljude iritiram, Ja sam izložak, Snimanje s kalendarom, 1966). His work included the fields of graphic design, design, film, photography, postconceptual art, land art, art brut, kinetic art, public space interventions, actions, agitations, lectures and body art. In 1974, he produced the artists’ action entitled The Analysis of an Artist’s Death, which comprised of an attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train. His works were exhibited in Split and other cities worldwide. As a participant of the Red Peristyle art group, he also belonged to the New Art Practice movement. His works are held in the No-art collection of the Anti-museum and in the archives of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb.
